This is the alarm clock that gently wakes sluggish sleepers--or lulls them to slumber--by simulating a summer sunrise or sunset utilizing your existing bedside lamp. Using field data of the light intensity changes throughout an actual sunrise, the clock dims almost any incandescent lamp to re-enact a faithful sunset or sunrise before its alarm goes off. The natural cues of light trigger the body's internal clock to sleep or wake, making it especially useful during periods of limited daylight, or in times where work or life schedules don't match the sun's rhythm. Though a sunrise is typically 30 minutes, the clock can be set to deliver one in a leisurely two-hour span, as quickly as 15 minutes, or any length in between in 15-minute increments. It has all essential alarm clock functionality, including AM/FM radio, dual-alarm times, and snooze button. The backlit display is bright enough to read in daylight, but automatically dims at night to be less obtrusive. Not for use with fluorescent bulbs or low-voltage halogen lamps.
