The chalky-appearing Mood Flame shell is a soft, flexi and flame-resistant silicone that shields the candle from a breeze. The Grand Prix of design in Paris even awarded its prize to Mood. Jan honed his chops at FLEX\the INNOVATIONLAB, then joined Gijs Bakker at the Design Academy in 1993. He now does double duty as design manager for Unilever and overseeing his own tudio, Jan Hoekstra BVBA.
